Hi everyone,

Has anyone had this operation? I really don't know what to expect. I'm booked in for it on 16th December. So I'm starting to worry now as it is near to Christmas and I'm worried about recovery.

Im 19 and have been dealing with endo, since I was 15. Now im so run down and depressed.
Every day I get up take my pain killers, try to eat. Most the time i throw my breakfast back up. I suffer severe back ache. My gyneacologist is no good, nor are my gps. All i get told is your condition is servere, take more pills. Im so pilled up i rattle. Getting so fed up with it, same as my boyfriend. My social life is a ruin due to this, i can't even go out on my own in fear of collapsing...

Dear Everyone that I emailed in the past.

I have not been on this forum for a very long time. The last time I was on here I was going through a really bad time with my job. I was off work with endomeriosis and the company I worked with were really nasty. Did not understand the treatment I was having and they made me work all day on my own without help which let to me being ill and having to take time off work as I had weeks and weeks of them being nasty. IVF Drug Query

I had a laporoscopy 3 months ago and have been advised that IVF is my only option if I want to concieve. Have started researching and been to information sessions and have been told about the drugs I will need to take and that it slows down the endo growth as my body is put on 'pause' but then the drugs to start things up again and stimulate the ovaries may speed up the growth of endo.

I just wanted to know what peoples experiences are of this - has the endo come back...

Hey,

I was just wondering if any of you have tried Mercilon 20 and how you got on with it? i have been recommended to try it but wanted to see what you girls think first. It does say in the leaflet (which worried me) "Some Mercilon users have reported the following side effects, altho they are not necessarily caused by Mercilon...fibroids or endometriosis may get worse". So a lil concerned about that, what do you think?

Bowel endo surgery booked - any advice?

Hi

I was given the date of my surgery today and met with the consultant. I am having my operation on 4th Dec. I am very relieved to have the date although another 4 weeks in pain is not ideal. At the same time, I am petrified as well! Of all of it!

I am having a bowel resection in 2 places, including rectum, temporary stoma bag, cyst removed from right ovary and my tubes...

After making a total nuisance of myself on the phone to the John Radcliffe staff, I have managed to get a provisional surgery date in December!

I was referred to Mr McVeigh originally & have met him once - due to meet again at end Nov to discuss MRI findings & plan surgery in detail, as was expecting him to be surgeon.
However, surgery date would be with Mr Tim Childs (no other dates with Mr McVeigh available till the New Year).

Sorry this will be long. I had problems with irregular bleeding when i was 16 but docs said i was too young to have endometriosis. I eventually changed docs and demanded something was done. They said they'd do a laporoscopy when my periods when from 2 and a half days to 7 (i know for some people thats not a lot) but they expected to find nothing. How wrong were they they found endometriosis on my left side and i had laser treatment on the same day, this was followed by 3 months of zolodex...

Hi girls, sorry me again....
I just have a quick question... After recently getting my definative endo diagnois (a lot of ?endo but finally a defo endo!) the doc wants me to go onto zolodex... he said that it can only be given for 6 months, my questions are
How quick will i notice an improvement?
How long do the effects last?
Whats next after the 6 month course?
Sorrrrryyy girls shoulda asked the doc but i was sooo relieved i was just mumbling to him!

I went to see the gyne team today and to my relief, i am not imagining this whole thing!! I went to the GP a while back to see if he could shed some light on what my lap had found and he said he could only speculate that, if they had taken a biopsy, they must have found something and prescribed me some oramorph. Anyways in clinic today, i saw the consultant and he said that the lap had showed wide spread adhesions and their feeling was it was endo... he went off to get the...

after hysterectomy

hi there had a hysterectomy about sixteen wks ago the reson endo and cists was bleeding all the time and a lot of pain for over a year, now after hysterectomy no bleeding still in pain,on hrt was wondering if they missed some pockets could the hrt agraviate the endo if not what could cause the pain anyone suffering similar thanks

I am new here and thank God I found this place, it seems very supportive. I have not been officially diagnosed with endo but have been having irregular periods (between 28 and 47 days normally but sometimes up to three months apart) I also have heavy ones and always have had the pain but last four years is much worse. Am now in pain all through period instead of first couple of days, also have pain and severe bloating for about seven to ten days before as well as bladder...

Hi to everyone.

I'm hoping that someone can give me some advice as I really don't know what to do, Here goes:

Over the six months whilst on the Zoladex & HRT, I'd been keeping a diary day to day so that when I returned to see the gynae at hostipal and my Dr, they would be able to see how I've been responding to treatment or not. While on this, for the first 3 weeks everything worked really well, no pain from either sex-bowel or bladder movements...

Hi Girls, Thought I'd just give you all a wee update. I had my surgery last Wednesday. It all started well with the surgeon doing it all via laparoscopy. Removed my left ovary and tube and lasered the rest of my endo. He also managed to seperated my bowel from my cervix, said it was a right mess! Anyway the bowel surgeon peeled off some endo from my bowel. They were about to stitch me up and realsied that I had a tiny hole in my bowel! In other words they nicked my bowel. So the bowel...
