Surgery booked but I'm having serious doubts - is this normal?

Hi everyone

This was the only place I could think of to openly discuss my fears.

My bowel endo surgery is booked for the beginning of Dec. I am having a bowel resection in 2 places, including my rectum removed as well as a cyst removed and my tubes straightened. I will also have a temporary stoma bag.

Anyway, I totally trust my Dr. He is very good and has been very efficient in rushing my case through. However, I am starting to have some serious doubts about...

Hi

I was given the date of my surgery today and met with the consultant. I am having my operation on 4th Dec. I am very relieved to have the date although another 4 weeks in pain is not ideal. At the same time, I am petrified as well! Of all of it!

Hello All,

After making a total nuisance of myself on the phone to the John Radcliffe staff, I have managed to get a provisional surgery date in December!

I was referred to Mr McVeigh originally & have met him once - due to meet again at end Nov to discuss MRI findings & plan surgery in detail, as was expecting him to be surgeon.
However, surgery date would be with Mr Tim Childs (no other dates with Mr McVeigh available till the New Year).

hi there had a hysterectomy about sixteen wks ago the reson endo and cists was bleeding all the time and a lot of pain for over a year, now after hysterectomy no bleeding still in pain,on hrt was wondering if they missed some pockets could the hrt agraviate the endo if not what could cause the pain anyone suffering similar thanks

Hi Girls, Thought I'd just give you all a wee update. I had my surgery last Wednesday. It all started well with the surgeon doing it all via laparoscopy. Removed my left ovary and tube and lasered the rest of my endo. He also managed to seperated my bowel from my cervix, said it was a right mess! Hello - I am in midst of lodging a formal complaint about length of time I am having to wait for surgery at the JR to remove an endo cyst from ovary & unstick whole lot from bowel (may also be in bowel too, so might need bowel resection = deep joy).

I am now 6 weeks post lap number 2, this time there was some excision of old active endo done, dye test, and I had the mirena fitted. I can't believe I feel worse then I did before the op! In the first few days after I felt really good, and then wham!! it hit me. I am still taking tramadol, paracetamol and diclofenac all day everyday, vitamins, iron, extra vitamin C to keep the germs away at work, but still I feel awful. Had my lap yesterday luckily I was first in as my blood pressure was quite high, so down at theatre for 8.15am. They couldnt get a vein for ages to put I had five people tapping my arms, eventually got one and before I know it was in recovery. Iam having a laproscopy on Friday to determine whether or not I have endo. Have been reading the boards and got loads of tips for after the lap!!! Iam getting really nervous now but just want to know whats happening and what the pains are!!!
