After a laparoscopy in Dec 08 I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis, which was quite a shock to me and my consulatant, as luckily my symptons have been pretty minor and bearable.

Over the last 6 months I have had more and more pain that seems to be from my ovaries - mainly right sided.
I have been referred back to my gynae consultant and am just waiting for my appt to come through

Back in 1994, my Mum had a hysterectomy with one diseased ovary removed. She had had very heavy, flooding bleeding that prevented her leaving the house for 24 days in the month that was believed to be the result of fibroids. She didn't ever experience any pain. When the surgeon performed the hysterectomy he left the healthy left ovary and removed the diseased right ovary. I am 36 and had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 4 weeks ago. I am due back to my gp on tuesday as my sick notes runs out. I was wondering how long other women were off of work for when they had this done. I have heard several things about how long it takes to recover. Sorry to post, but I'm feeling really rough. I've been in more pain since I stopped the Zoladex and changed to Decapeptyl, but my bones wouldn't take any more, so I'm now on Decapeptyl. The Rheumatoid Arthritis isn't too vile right now, as I've had 3 weeks of steroids (so I could function during our holiday). Today it's 16 years since my hysterectomy. And to celebrate, I have an appointment at a new Pain Clinic. Never thought things would be like this so far along the road, but I had my hyst honestly believing that it was the right thing to do. So I can't really blame anyone else, can I?
